Klinge and Kewish take out Vic Classic singles crowns

Darts Victoria held the 2021 Victorian Classic at Italian Australian Sporting Club over the weekend.

Players from across Victoria, South Australia, NSW and ACT congregated at the Morwell venue to compete in the first DA grand prix tournament held since the COVID-19 pandemic.

In the men’s singles draw it was Brody Klinge who defeated Steve Powell 8-5 to be crowned the champion.

While in the ladies singles competition, Tori Kewish defeated Barb Smyth 6-2 to take out the crown.

Darts Victoria stated the following in a Facebook post:

“Darts Victoria would like to send a huge thank you to Cass and the Italian Australian Sporting Club for hosting the Victoria Classic for 2021. Thank you to the LaTrobe City Council for their sponsorship of the first event back in 2021.”

“A huge thanks also goes out to all the players who turned up this weekend, especially those from South Australia, NSW and ACT.”

“We know it was it was a difficult year last year and we are so glad we were finally able to bring darts back to Victoria!

“A special thanks also must go to those that helped DV organise and carry out the event. Takes a lot of time, effort and people power to bring the dartboards, stands and accessories to Morwell to host the tournament for our members.

“Congratulations to all our winners and runners up. See you all at the next tournament!”
