World Championship draws complete

Three Australians have qualified for the 2022 WDF Lakeside World Championship, which will take place from January 1-9 next year.

Justin Thompson will be the sole male with the AUS next to his name at the event, while Tori Kewish and Corrine Hammond will be representing our hopes in the Women’s event.

And the draws for the opening two rounds of the event have been finalised with all three of our player facing difficult opponents should they make it through to the second round.

In his opening match, Thompson has been pitted against Paul Hogan (of the English variety), and if he gets through unscathed will then take on the number five seed from Northern Ireland, Neil Duf.

Kewish has drawn Scot Lorraine Hyde in the opening round, with a potential match up with top seed Deta Hedman of England on the cards should she progress.

Hammond will take to the oche against Canadian Darlene van Sleeuwen in the opening round, with third seed Dutchwoman Anca Zijlstra awaiting the winner in the second round.

All of the Aussie contenders results will be posted via the Darts Australia website and social media channels through January.
