The Canterbury Classic took place between Friday 3/2 and Monday 6/2 in Christchurch. Below is a full recap of all the results from a jam-packed weekend.
In the Ladies singles event, Kym Mitchell took out the victory for Australia by defeating Wendy Harper 4-2 in the final. It was also a brilliant effort from Amanda Loch, who made it to the semi-final before being defeated by Harper.

In the Mens singles, Adam Rowe was Australia’s bets performer, making it to the last eight before being defeated by Craig Ross 4-2.
Team New Zealand took out the win in the Trans Tasman Test Match, defeating Australia 18-16. It was a great match by both sides, and sportsmanship was at a high.
In the Teams action, the Ladies event ended in a 4-4 draw, while the Mens event ended with New Zealand defeating Australia 5-3.
In the Fours events, the Australian Ladies took out a comfortable win, 9-4. Meanwhile, the New Zealand Men once again claimed victory 9-6.
Australia performed especially well in Mixed Doubles, with an All Australian final taking place.
Brandon Weening and Jo Hadley took out the win, defeating Peter Machin and Kym Mitchell in the final.

Adam Rowe and Amanda Loch also made it to the Mixed Doubles semi final, but were defeated by Weening and Hadley.
The Ladies Doubles event also housed an All Australian final with Amanda Loch and Jo Hadley defeating Kym Mitchell and Sarah Harrison 4-2 in the final.
Finally, Brandon Weening and Peter Machin made it to the final of the Mens Doubles, before unfortunately losing to New Zealand’s Haupai Puha and Tukina Weko.
Adam Rowe and Justin Thompson were defeated in the semi-final.
Overall, it was an amazing weekend that was enjoyed by all players, officials, and spectators.
