Winding down the 2022 Australian Championships, the last event occurred on Saturday, the 13th of August. The tournament has been a fantastic display of elite darts and good sportsmanship from all the players. What better way to end it than the prestigious Singles Event.
The Ladies Singles came down to the reigning champion, Victoria’s Tori Kewish, and NSW rising star Sarah Harrison. Kewish pulled out a decisive 3-2 leg coming into the sixth leg. Although, she struggled massively to sink a double six and clinch the leg. Eventually, a double one was achieved, and after 35 darts, Kewish won the leg and went on to win the match 6-3. Another victory in a great weekend for Kewish, and congratulations to Harrison to making it to the final.

In the Men’s singles, it was an all-Victorian affair. Long-time Australian representative Justin Thompson played rising star Brandon Weening. Thompson had defeated Adam Rowe in the semi-final 5-2, whilst Weening took down Scott Hallett in the semi-final, also having the scoreline 5-2. In the final, it was Thompsons experience that shined through, beating his state-representative teammate 6-2. Congratulations to both players, who have had several finals played over the busy week of the Australian Championships.
