2022 Murray Bridge Classic Wins for Weening & Van Den Kieboom

Brandon Weening (men’s) and Melina Van Den Kieboom (ladies) have taken out the respective Murray Bridge Classic singles titles are the weekend.

The event was held at the Murray Bridge Dart Club, which featured doubles events on Saturday and ended with the singles competition on Sunday.

In the men’s singles, Brandon Weening played exceptionally well to make his way to the final, coming up against Aaron Morrison.

Morrison had also produced some superb darts to make it to the final, defeating Peter Machin with an 89.59 to earn his spot.

The final was tight, with each finalist trading blow for blow, winning three legs a piece. However, Weening edged out two straight legs to win 5-3 and secured the victory.

In the ladies competition, Melina Van Den Kieboom played off against Lyn Morrison in the deciding match.

Both finalists had to overcome close games in the semi-finals with 4-3 victories against Abbey Morrison and Kym Mitchell, respectively.

Van Den Kieboom and Morrison were formidable opponents, with the fourth leg eventually going to Morrison after an extraordinary 39 darts. Eventually, Van Den Kieboom overcame Morrison 4-2 to claim the ladies crown.

In Saturday’s doubles events, the partnership of Singles Winner Brandon Weening and Dean Gibbs defeated Trent Mitchell and Danny Porter 7-4 to win the doubles title.

The ladies doubles had eventual singles finalist Lyn Morrison and her semi-finalist opponent Kym Mitchell coming up against the ladies singles winner Melina Van Den Kieboom and Barb Smyth. Mitchell and Morrison secured the victory, winning 5-3.
